Joseph F. Coughlin is Founder and Director of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) AgeLab, a multidisciplinary research program created to understand the behavior of the 50+ population, the role of technology and design in their lives, and the opportunity for innovation to improve the quality of life for older adults and their families. Dr. Coughlin teaches at MIT, was named by the Wall Street Journal as “one of the twelve people shaping retirement,” and was recognized by Fast Company as “one of the 100 most creative in business.” He is a member of the Board of Directors of AARP and speaks with and advises major companies, non-profits, and governments worldwide.
